It is disappointing to learn this is the final batch of the 2nd Performance DLC for Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Curtain Call, especially since it was interesting to see the song selection branch out from Final Fantasy music and into Square Enix’s back catalog of RPGs. The first game really is obsolete with the sequel released (unless you reeeeeally care about the one FFXIII Versus song that was cut from the sequel).ĮDIT: Also, with the DLC being added, this game is essentially becoming Theatrhythm Square Enix (minus Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts). Out now in Japan and in North America on March 5th, fans can choose from a selection of songs from titles such as Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Trigger, NieR and more. The second game is pretty much just the first game with a ton more content-it has all of the first game's songs with all of the original DLC as its base package, plus an additional mode and characters. It probably means a lot more to people who have actually played the games and hold memories for each of these songs, but I enjoyed/am enjoying it just fine without that as someone who loves video game music. If you don't like the music from the Final Fantasy series or rhythm games in general, this game won't be worth your time. Dallas Was Filled With Music From Flying Horse To Curtain Call. Personally, I also like the way the RPG elements have been incorporated into this game. I encourage you to make sure you like the style of Final Fantasy music before buying it though. ![]() If you like rhythm games and great video game music, definitely look into this game. I'm someone who hasn't really played any of the mainline Final Fantasy games and was only familiar with the most famous songs (Zanarkand, Aeris's Theme, etc.) before playing.
